Bibiana Mayans

Born in Barcelona, raised in the world.

Since I set foot in Aotearoa for the first time, I felt at home, I knew I belonged here. After more than 12 years living near Churchill Park, I am thrilled to bring Bloom to our community.

My journey as an educator began in 2015, when I joined Playcentre. Not only did I enjoy 7 wonderful years with my daughters, but I connected my love for nature with my passion for children's learning development along the journey of obtaining the Playcentre educator qualifications.

As part of my Playcentre journey I was also the outdoor session facilitator based at Tahuna Torea, which gave me the final push to launch the Churchill Park Nature Kindergarten branch back in 2022, with my colleague. Best decision ever and we are now operating our 6th term.

Bloom is the next stage of the evolution of my desire to connect children with nature.

With over 20 years of experience working with children, I’ve had the joy of nurturing young minds in a variety of settings—from early childhood centres across Auckland to the Kids Clubs on P&O and Disney Cruise Lines, caring for children aged 0-17. I’m also a dedicated Playcentre member of over 8 years, deeply involved in child-led learning and play.

Nature is my happy place—you’ll often find me frolicking in meadows, rolling down hills, and fully immersed in every adventure. I’m a big kid at heart, which means I don’t just supervise, I get right in there with them—climbing trees, splashing in streams, and getting covered in mud.

I believe children learn best when they see adults embracing the joy of play, and I’m always ready to dive into the fun alongside them. My passion is creating meaningful, hands-on nature experiences that spark curiosity, confidence, and a deep love for the wild world around us.
