Ready to explore nature?
Come onboard!
Bloom will be up and running a “one day a week” nature program every Wednesday during school terms.
Where: St Heliers Scouts Hall 19 Kinsale Avenue, Glendowie.
When: Wednesday from 9.00am to 3.00pm.
Who: Children aged 5yo to 13yo.
Bloom provides children the opportunity to feel at home with nature once a week. A time to reconnect with nature, to reconnect with themselves, a time to explore in a world without walls. The perfect environment to enhance their most profound learning dispositions.
The cost of the program is $70 a day and we request a complete term commitment.
What a day in nature would look like:
8:45am – 9:00am Drop off/Settling in
While children are arriving, they settle into their day as they choose. Some areas-activities will be set up prior to arrival.
9:00am – Hui
Once all children have arrived, we have our meeting, a time to welcome everyone and meet up. We discuss as a group our health and safety guidelines and the plan for the day. During this meeting the children discuss the weather and its implications to our wellbeing, what they would like to do as a group, boundaries of the site, safety drills and anything else the children need to talk about or need to know.
9:30am to 2:30pm – Hands on learning and exploring nature
A classroom without walls where children will self-direct their learning. They will be encouraged to follow their own interests and learn at their own rhythm. At all times they will be supported when the need arises.
We often go on adventures and will leave about 10.30am and be back at the site by 2pm.
2:30pm – Reflection
Our children will be encouraged to use this time as an opportunity to share their experiences of the day, share their discoveries and their learnings.
2:45pm - 3:00pm – Farewell
Children can be picked up.
